Neighborhood Cats Inc., a dedicated TNR organization located on the East Coast, created Cat Stats, a cat colony database, and licensed it to animal shelters and non-profit organizations. Elk Grove Cat Rescue Group has subscribed to Cat Stats to initiate the development of a cat colony registry in Elk Grove and surrounding areas. ​​

Elk Grove Cat Rescue Group intends to use the information to assist with trapping at cat colonies with a high need for targeted spay and neuter efforts. The caretakers are individuals who care for community cats. They will enter the details of their cat colony or multiple colonies in the database. Cat colony details will not be viewable by the general public. Only the administrator and approved trappers can view cat colony details.​​
